Tours & Travel
is a family run travel agent that
has been operating in Varanasi, Northern India for over 10 years. Our
shop is based in the heart of the tourist area, Assi Ghat on the banks
of the Ganges River. We are close to all the main tourist attractions,
good hotels and tourist facilities. We also have an office in Sydney,
Australia.
The Tiwari Travel office is air conditioned, has 12 computers with broadband Internet access, Digital camera, CD burning facilities, STD/IDD telephones, foreign currency exchange, and all the advice you need when embarking on a trip around India and Nepal.
Being a local Indian tour operator, Tiwari can advise and arrange all your travel needs, including the hire of taxi's wiith drivers, small group tours, hotels, trains, planes, buses, taxis, rickshaws and of course the best sightseeing and shopping available!
You may like to book on one of our Small Group Tours or simply create your own Private Tours. We are fully flexible and cater for singles, couples, families and friends!
What makes Tiwari Travel different to other tour companies?Firstly, our tour groups are small, averaging only 10 passengers and unlike other tour companies, we have the advantage, convenience and safety of touring in our own private 4WD vehicles. All our tours have a spiritual and health/well-being theme. We encourage responsible tourism and travel "off the beaten track" and integrate with the local people and communities.
We visit areas that are less frequented by tourist's and attempt to spread our tourism dollars to places and people that need it the most. Our small groups have minimal negative impact and more positive results for both our passengers and the locals. Not only do we see some beautiful temples and palaces and mountains but we also visit charities and ashrams and community aid projects.

Travel People
Sunit Tiwari - started Tiwari Tours & Travel in 1992, from his home. Since then, Sunit and his brothers have built up their business to encompass everything from a travel shop with taxi services, broadband internet services foreign exchange and organised group cultural tours.
Praveen Tiwari - overseas the running of the business relationships with customers and local tour operators.
Salil Tiwari - is responsible for all of Tiwari Travel's accounting, bookkeeping, billing and management of vehicles, drivers and staff.
Meredith Wilks - runs the Tiwari Travel Sydney office. An experienced tour operator, who has previously worked as a Indian tour leader for large Australian companies before working with Tiwari Travel. She has lived on/off in India/Nepal for the the past 15 years. Meredith has been practicing and learning Yoga in India and Australia for many years. She has been to nearly every corner of India, including visiting many Ashrams and Yoga Schools. She is available anytime to discuss your travel needs to India, Nepal,Tibet and Bhutan.
Soloman Joseph - Tiwari Travel Yoga Teacher - is from Kerala in South India.His qualifications include - International Teacher Training Certificate - Sivananda Ashram Kerala - 1990 Advanced Teacher Training Certificate - Sivananda Ashram Kerala - 1996 Rishikesh Yoga Study Centre - one month Yoga Studies - 1998 Certificate Course in Vivekananda School - Bangalore - 2000. Solaman focuses on stretching and relaxation. His classes are meditative with an emphasis on breathing/pranayama. At the beginning of the tour Soloman spends one on one time with each passenger to determine their personal level, needs and requirements.
